Just 6 miles from Uttoxeter, with its race course, and situated between Alton and Cheadle, Quarry Walk is a perfect base for touring the area known as ‘the Potteries’. An astounding number of visitor attractions await within a 10-mile radius, including Alton Towers, Dovedale Valley and Shugborough Hall. Cycle hire and boat trips are available along the Calden Canal and rock climbing, hang gliding and boating at Rudyard Reservoir. Launderette*, shop and barbecue area on site available for all dates.

Reviews
I would happily, and already have, recommended this holiday to others. When we arrived the underfloor heating wasn't warm but we found two heaters in the lodge and were advised to ask for more if we needed them, by the morning it was fine but a member of staff did some to lodge to check it was working. Every member of staff we met were polite and friendly and it was a pleasure to go away and relax safe in the knowledge that if there were staff on hand to help if needed. Thank you for a brilliant weekend and for keeping us toasty and warm in your hot tub even in minus weather!

Very lovely site, really picturesque in the snow, very warm in the minus temperatures and well worth the money which was paid for the 3 nights accommodation. Very enjoyable stay, will definitely re-book.

Long famous for its potteries and its beer, Staffordshire also lays claim to not one but two of England’s most popular visitor attractions. All the more reason to take a break in one of our holiday cottages in Staffordshire.
Staffordshire’s largest city is Stoke-on-Trent, also known as The Potteries. This has been the centre of Britain’s ceramic industry for centuries, and the home of such famous names as Wedgwood and Royal Doulton. If you’re a fan of good English ale, then our Staffordshire cottage holidays are the ideal opportunity for a visit to Burton-on-Trent, where the unique quality of the water gave rise to the town’s brewing heritage.
But it’s not all industry in Staffordshire. You can enjoy some lovely countryside in the Peak District, Cannock Chase and the Staffordshire Moorlands – great for walking and wildlife enthusiasts. And then there is Alton Towers, one of the UK’s premier visitor attractions with a truly scary selection of rollercoasters, as well as Drayton Manor, which has some exciting white knuckle rides of its own. The small city of Lichfield, which still retains its old world charm is also well worth a visit.
